A few weeks ago Matt and I had a private tour of the West Wing. To be totally honest, I was not looking forward it given the current tenant, but we were invited and soooo...we went. I did have to give myself a pep talk before going. I had to be very intentional and remember that the White House does not belong to the person who lives there. It belongs to us as a nation and it is steeped in history. As we were walking through the hallways and pathways, all I could think was if the walls could talk, what a story they would tell. We weren't allowed to take many pictures but the grounds were beautiful The Press Room was probably my favorite part Why not act the part in the Press Room?!
How many Garcias and Hansons does it take to surprise Pablo and Angie? Apparently, 23 of us! Last weekend we celebrated my folks' 58th wedding anniversary with a surprise party in San Antonio. It was months in the making - probably 8 or 9 months ago we started to plan it. All went pretty well until about two weeks out when talk of a dental surgery surfaced. Texts flew back and forth and before we knew it, we had a new script with a new plan. Thanks to Maxwell and "Uncle Carl", we landed the surprise perfectly! The time spent together is never long enough, but having us all under one roof for one full day for a happy occasion was such a gift. Family really is everything. Happy 58 years, mom and dad. I hope this was one for the books! The first 12 hours was a crash course in Texas culture, Mexican food and tortillas for Jordi Engaged and 58 years strong! We love you, mom and dad!
