Our Best Boy

Wicket was our best boy. He died on Sunday, August 25, 2025. We had him, and he had us, for 4,197 days and it wasn't long enough.

He had doggie dementia, as we affectionately called his confusion. He started to show signs of slowing down at the beginning of the year, but once Piggie died in June, Wicket declined pretty quickly. I really think he missed his buddy, and it was time to go.

Deciding to put him down was the hardest decision of my life, but I know it was the right one. He wasn't in any pain, and we were all with him at home. He was perfectly Wicks until the end.

He got brisket for breakfast and all the treats he wanted all day long

Matt took him for one last car ride to the water

His favorite spot at any of our houses was at the front door window

Sullivan stopped by to say goodbye and ugh, that almost did us all in

Maxwell said it best when he said, "we aren't really dog people, but we are Wicket people".
I love you, buddy.
You and Piggie can keep adventuring now.
