Five-Oh

For months before my birthday Matt and the kids and my girlfriends were all asking what I wanted to do for my 50th. I know it's considered a "milestone" birthday, but making big plans with a big party or a big girls trip seemed a little over the top and honestly, kind of unnecessary.

I didn't feel like I was about to jump into a new chapter or that I needed to mark one occasion in order to  leave another behind. I don't know, it's hard to explain, but turning 50 felt like a simple continuation of really good thing. It felt easy and natural.

All of that being said, Matt wasn't going to let 50 slip by unnoticed. True to form, he planned a fabulous weekend trip to what has become one of my favorite places and we did some of my favorite things. And it was perfect.

Empire State Building view from our hotel bar
Bryant Park
Times Square
The Book of Mormon
Eugene O'Neill Theatre
At the NBA store getting ready for the game
Rockefeller Center where we had dinner

Madison Square Garden
Spurs vs Knicks

Rally cap didn't help the Spurs at all!
I heart NYC

Back at home on my actual birthday...
I certainly felt loved!

Maxwell, Henry and Viv know me well!

Cheers to this 50 and the next!
